<STUDY_ABSTRACT>We have isolated Novosphingobium sp. MBES04 from a sunken wood recovered from a depth of 260 m in Suruga Bay, off the Pacific coast of Shizuoka prefecture, central Japan, which grows on the several aromatic monomers and metabolizes lignin model dimers. To acquire some biochemical findings, we attempt to perform whole genome sequencing of Novosphingobium sp. MBES04, and compare the sequences to those of related species.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
