<STUDY_ABSTRACT>We have isolated Sphingobium xenophagum OW59 from a wood fall taken from seabed at a depth of 492 m off Sendai and Sanriku, northern Japan, which grows on the several plant-derived aromatic monomers and sugars. To acquire some biochemical findings, we attempt to perform whole genome sequencing of Sphingobium xenophagum OW59, and compare the sequences to those of related species.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
