      <STUDY_ABSTRACT>In this study, we sought to broaden our understanding of circulatory monocyte functions captured during the acute (on hospital admission; day0) and recovery (one month follow-up) stages of patients diagnosed with community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). Overall design: Examination of RNA expression in circulating CD14+ monocytes obtained from CAP patients on hospital admission (CAP; day0), from the same patients after one month recovery (CAP_D28; one month), and age and sex-matched control participants (Healthy_Volunteer; HV).</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
