      <STUDY_ABSTRACT>Our data using DNA extracted from infected dolphins grouped this pathogen in a monophyletic cluster sister to P. americana and to the other Paracoccidioides species. Based on these results we have renamed the uncultivated strain from dolphins as Paracoccidioides cetii sp. nov. and that of humans as Paracoccidioides loboi amend. nov. Our data warn that discrimination of taxa without the inclusion of unusual members may provide incomplete information for the accurate classification of anomalous species.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
