      <STUDY_ABSTRACT>The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between different biochar components on soil microbial diversity and absolute abundance. Our work revealed the negative relationships between microbial diversity and metabolic functions mediated by biochar C components and identified the responsive bacterial taxa to biochar labile C and aromatic C, providing an insight for microbially-regulated C in agricultural ecosystems.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
