      <DESIGN_DESCRIPTION>Potato cultivars Gladiator and Iwa were used in this study. The seedlings of similar size were inoculated by dipping their roots into the inoculum suspension for one hour. For the control plants, roots were dipped into sterile water. After 42 days in the greenhouse, the roots of the infected and control plants were collected, washed thoroughly under running water, frozen in liquid nitrogen and stored at -80 C for RNA-seq</DESIGN_DESCRIPTION>
