      <STUDY_TITLE>Characterization of bat coronaviruses in Korea</STUDY_TITLE>
      <STUDY_TYPE existing_study_type="Other"/>
      <STUDY_ABSTRACT>In this study, full genomes of four novels Alphacoronaviruses and two betacoronaviruses from different bats were sequenced and analyzed, which represent novel coronaviruses circulating in South Korea. The analysis based on genome structure, conserved replicase domains, spike gene, and nucleocapsid gene revealed that bat Alphacoronaviruses are in three different viral species. Among them, the novel B20-97 strain may represent a new putative species, closely related to PEDV. In addition, the newly-identified MERS-related coronavirus exhibited genomic nucleotide identities of less than 76.4% with other Betacoronavirus Lineage C viruses.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
