<STUDY_ABSTRACT>Erysiphe necator, the causal agent of grapevine powdery mildew, is an agriculturally and economically important fungal pathogen. The goal of this project is to produce a high quality reference strain for E. necator. The E. necator isolate C-strain genome was sequenced at 76X coverage using an Illumina shotgun sequencing approach. The source of DNA was conidia collected from infected grapevine leaves at 20 days post inoculation. The reads were assembled into 5,936 scaffolds. The E. necator genome has an estimated size of 125Mb and a repetitive content of 60%.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
