      <STUDY_ABSTRACT>To investigate the beneficial efffects of lactic acid bacteria (LAB), we selected the major metabolites lactic acid and phenyllactic acid. After lifespan assay and toxicity assay, we selected phenyllactic acid as an active component of LAB to affect anti-aging effects. This project was performed to uncover the changes of genes under phenyllactic acid treatment on model organism, C. elegans.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
