<STUDY_ABSTRACT>Hibernators are natural models of resistance to ischemia, hypoxia-reperfusion injury and hypothermia. The molecular changes and mechanisms behind the several torpor-arousal cycles to which the Daurian Ground Squirrel (Spermophilus dauricus) has adapted to survive without sustained cardiac damage are not fully understood. This study intends to use transcriptome sequencing to reveal some mechanisms.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
