<STUDY_ABSTRACT>This study was undertaken to assess the structural characteristics and diversity of the microbial communities associated with two artificial substrates (polyvinyl chloride, PVC and polyethylene, PE) deployed at two different coastal sites of the Ross Sea, differently impacted by anthropic pressure (i.e. Road Bay, close to the Italian Research Station Mario Zucchelli) or natural variations (i.e. Tethys Bay, showing salinity gradients in relation to climate warming).</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
