<STUDY_ABSTRACT>Hemipteran insects of the suborder Sternorrhyncha are plant-sap feeders. Coccidae (soft scale insects) is the only major sternorrhynchan family in which obligate symbionts have not been identified. The bacterial and the fungal microbiome of seven Coccidae species (50 samples total, collected from Israel, Cyprus and Spain) was described by SSU rRNA gene fragments amplicon sequencing.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
