<STUDY_ABSTRACT>Soil bacteria play important roles in several biogeochemical soil processes . Harvest residue retention, providing increasingly diverse substrate, has the potential to significantly affect soil bacterial community. Many short-term studies have investigated the effects of harvest residue retention on soil bacterial community, including both indirect techniques and high throughput sequencing technology. However, the long-term impacts are seldom studies, it is therefore necessary to elucidate the long-term impacts of harvest residue retention on soil bacterial communities.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
