      <STUDY_ABSTRACT>The &lt;a href="http://www.broad.mit.edu/annotation/fungi/cryptococcus_neoformans_b/index.html"&gt;Broad Institute&lt;/a&gt; sequenced the &lt;i&gt;Cryptococcus gattii&lt;/i&gt; VGII molecular type R265 (aka &lt;i&gt;Cryptococcus neoformans&lt;/i&gt; var. &lt;i&gt;gattii&lt;/i&gt; R265 or &lt;i&gt;Cryptococcus neoformans&lt;/i&gt; R265, serotype B) genome at 6X coverage using whole genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing. They generated a &lt;i&gt;Cryptococcus gattii&lt;/i&gt; R265 genome assembly consisting of 701 contigs placed into 28 scaffolds. The assembly represents approximately 85.8% of the genome; it excludes ribosomal RNA genes and very highly conserved repetitive sequence. The &lt;i&gt;Cryptococcus gattii&lt;/i&gt; R265 genome assembly is undergoing automated annotation.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
