      <DESIGN_DESCRIPTION>The adult flies were subjected to a temporary heat stress (HS), where the test subjects were moved to an incubator set at 32 0C for 2 hours. The HS flies were placed at 22 0C under standard conditions for 1 hour. This is the heat primed condition. The heat primed were then transferred to vials with thin strips of Whatman paper soaked with 5% hydrogen peroxide in 30 % sucrose solution at 22 0C under standard conditions for 18 hours.
