<STUDY_ABSTRACT>The microbes which can survive and reproduce at extreme cold condition are called psychrophilic microorganism . Himalayan glacier are the suitable habitats of psychrophilic microorganisms. The study of culture independent technique (metagenomics) from glacier provide us an overall idea about the microbial diversity, metabolics and their novel pathways. For biotechnological point of view the study of glacier by metagenomics also provide us an idea about novel bacteria and their secondary metabolics such as enzymes and carotenoids which will provide a new biotechnology.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
