      <STUDY_TITLE>Effects of pale swallowwort presence on soil microbiomes in the Finger Lakes region of New York, USA</STUDY_TITLE>
      <STUDY_TYPE existing_study_type="Other"/>
      <STUDY_ABSTRACT>Vincetoxicum rossicum (pale swallowwort) is an invasive species in the northeastern United States and southern Canada. It has been shown to produce allelopathic compounds with antimicrobial properties. We compared the soil microbiomes, soil N availability, and soil respiration at five sites around Cayuga Lake, in the Finger Lakes region of New York. At each site, we measured four plots where pale swollowwort was absent and four where it was present, to determine if pale swallowwort presence affected soil microbiome or function.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
