<STUDY_ABSTRACT>This study aims to understand the extent to which gene function (as determined by agenome-wide screen for epistasis among deletion mutants) influences the rate and genetic basis of compensatory adaptation in a set of 37 gene deletion mutants nestedwithin 16 functional modules. This sequence data was used to understand how the de novo mutations that fix during laboratory evolution are influenced by the initial deletion mutation.</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
