<DESIGN_DESCRIPTION>Grain samples of 3 different plants constitute one biological replicate which were used for isolation of total RNA. RNA isolation was carried out for three biological replicate (consisting of pooled grain from 3 plants) of each genotype for four developmental stages were prepared. For each biological replicate, RNA samples of all four stages were pooled in equimolar concentration before library construction. Hence, altogether 10 separate libraries consisting of two biological replicates of five genotype were prepared with Illumina-compatible NEBNext Ultra Directional RNA Library Prep Kit (New England BioLabs, MA, USA) according to the manufacturer's protocol and paired end sequencing was done using Illumina (HiseqTM 2500) sequencing technology to obtain reads of 150 bp length.</DESIGN_DESCRIPTION>
