<STUDY_ABSTRACT>Mammalian Peptidoglycan Recognition Proteins (PGRPs or PGLYRPs) kill bacteria through induction of synergistic oxidative, thiol, and metal stress in bacteria. This study was performed to identify Escherichia coli mutants with increased or decreased survival following 3-hr exposure of a mini-Tn10 insertion library of E. coli MG1655 to bactericidal or bacteriostatic concentrations of human peptidoglycan recognition protein-4 (PGLYRP4), or to a control protein (bovine serum albumin).</STUDY_ABSTRACT>
