UniProt Release 2026_01

The UniProt consortium European Bioinformatics Institute (EBI), SIB Swiss 
Institute of Bioinformatics and Protein Information Resource (PIR), 
is pleased to announce UniProt Knowledgebase (UniProtKB) Release 
2026_01 (28-Jan-2026). UniProt (Universal Protein Resource) is a 
comprehensive catalog of information on proteins.

UniProtKB Release 2026_01 consists of 203,130,941 entries (UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot: 
574,627 entries and UniProtKB/TrEMBL: 202,556,314 entries)
UniRef100 Release 2026_01 consists of 475,217,233 entries
UniRef90 Release 2026_01 consists of 188,848,220 entries
UniRef50 Release 2026_01 consists of 60,315,044 entries
UniParc Release 2026_01 consists of 1,049,796,331 entries, where 979,324,393 are active and 70,471,938 inactive
UniProt databases can be accessed from the web at http://www.uniprot.org and
