Effects of the phytohormones in the Schlechtendalia chinensis extract on Arabidopsis seedlings |
description |
An extract of a gall-inducing aphid, Schlechtendalia chinensis, induces excessive or ectopic nutritive, vascular, and protective tissues, as observed in typical insect galls. To investigate the effects of hormone included in the S. chinensis extract on Arabidopsis seedlings, this work provided the following conditions.
Arabidopsis wild-type Columbia (Col-0) was grown on vertical half-strength Murashige and Skoog plates in a growth chamber at 22°C under a 16 hr of light and 8 hr of dark cycle. 4-day-old seedlings were dipped in water or the artificial hormone mix (AHM), was composed of S. chinensis phytohormone calculated from the results of the S. chinensis phytohormone content analyses, for 16 hr. Total RNA was isolated and sequenced. |
