The silkworm ovary-derived BmN4 cell line is an emerging model for studying germ line piRNA pathway because BmN4 cell line retains germ line piRNA pathway. piRNAs are derived from piRNA precursors transcribed from genomic piRNA clusters. To date, the chromatin landscape for piRNA clusters and how piRNA precursor transcription is regulated are poorly understood.
