title |
Bacterial communities changes with granulation process of cryoconite granules on Qaanaaq Glacier, Greenland |
description |
Cryoconite granules are microbiological aggregations with mineral particles on glacier surface. Since they have a high absorbency of solar radiation, they cause excessive melting of glacier ice. Despite of their importance for the huge mass loss of Greenland Ice Sheet, their formation processes were not unrevealed.
To understand formation process and environmental factor, cryoconite granules collected from 5 different sites on Qaanaaq Glacier, northwest Greenland, were sorted to 6 different sizes and were analyzed respectively for bacterial 16S rRNA diversity. |
