title |
Fate of opportunistic pathogenic yeasts during wastewater treatment using rhizofiltration |
description |
The fungal metagenome of a rhizofilter, treating municipal wastewater, was explored to determine the relative abundance of potentially pathogenic yeasts such as Candida. Representative samples were collected of the filter media, and the rhizosphere of the plants (Typha capensis) growing in the filter. Three representative samples of an unplanted control and three of the rhizosphere filter media were used in the analysis. One sample on each side before wastewater was added, and one as wells as 168 h after wastewater was added. |
