Indium lung disease |
description |
Indium compounds are materials used in the manufacture of transparent conductive films for flat panel displays. Indium tin oxide (ITO) is the most commonly used compound; it consists of indium oxide and about 10% (wt) tin oxide.
Inhalation of indium compounds is known to cause respiratory damage. Occupational inhalation of ITO is linked to a new occupational disease named indium lung disease. |
