title Transcriptome analysis of taste organoids
description Purpose of this project is to understand the molecular mechanism of taste stem cell maintenance and taste cell differentiation using organoid culture system. We have isolated Lgr5-GFP taste stem/progenitor cells from circumvallate papillae and cultured them in vitro. All different types of taste cells can be found in our in vitro 3-D culture system after 12-14 days of culture. With RNAs extracted from Day 2 (D2), D4, D6, D8, D10, D12 and D14 taste organoids, we have systematically surveyed the transcriptome landscape of taste organoids at different developmental stages using RNA-seq.
