description An anhydrobiotic tardigrade, Hypsibius dujardini, requires de novo gene expression for successful anhydrobiosis. To investigate transcriptional responses in this tardigrade species, comparative transcriptomics including early phase vs late phase during desiccation treatment were performed. Upregulated genes in early phase were categorized by investigating the transcriptomes of tardigrades pre-treated with a translation inhibitor, cycloheximide.
