Polymorphism analysis of Arabidopsis kamchatica |
description |
Allopolyploid hybrids are formed when two or more diploid species hybridize without genome reduction. Increased ploidy is predicted to have consequences on positive and purifying selection due to masking of beneficial or deleterious mutations and genome wide data is needed for empirical validation. To quantify strengths of selection, we resequenced a range-wide collection of the allopolyploid Arabidopsis kamchatica, a natural hybrid of the diploid parents A. halleri and A. lyrata, by sorting Illumina reads using parental genome assemblies. |
