Transcriptome analysis of Phyllostachys nigra cultured cell line (rpc00047) as a tool for exploring structural and functional characteristics of bamboo. |
description |
Pn (Phyllostachys nigra) cell has an excellent functional ability to differentiate secondary cell wall formation with activation of lignification process within 2 weeks of culture under a specific condition (See Ogita et al. 2012, Nomura et al. 2013). Currently Pn cell is deposited RIKEN BRC as rpc00047 model cell line. In this project, we focus on a cellular lignification system of Pn (rpc00047) cell line and investigate relation between differentiations and alterations of cellular systems associated with its secondary cell wall formation with the lignification process. To obtain a landscape of the transcriptome and to elucidate genes involved in the lignification in bamboos, we performed an RNA-seq based transcriptome analysis by adapting the cellular lignification system of Pn (rpc00047) cell. |
