Comprehensive Microbiome Analysis of Pig Farms that Have Potential Risk for Streptococcus suis Infection |
description |
In this research, we collected body samples (saliva, feces, and vagina) from different growth stages of healthy pigs and their environment samples (feeder trough and water dispenser) in two pig farms in Vietnam. These sample sets were used for microbiome analysis to compare the bacterial compositions and biological relationship between samples. We further investigated which Streptococcus species are predominant in salivary microbiota. Our findings in this study could provide the new insight into the preventive epidemiology for S. suis infection, and the comprehensive microbiome approaches might be useful for the risk assessment for zoonotic diseases |
