Genomes of microorganisms isolated from the midgut of beetle |
description |
DNAs in two isolated microorganism culture were sequenced.
Microorganisms were isolated from the midgut of Japanese rhinoceros beetle, Trypoxylus dichotomus, using Shields and Sang M3 insect medium without Fetal Bovine Serum. One microorganism was a gram-positive bacteria. Sequences obtained from the bacteria have homology to a genome of Enterococcus gallinarum. The other microorganism was a fungi. Sequences obtained from the fungi have homology to a genome of Mucor circinelloides f. lusitanicus. |
