title |
Genome diversity analysis of rice varieties from Hokkaido |
description |
Extensive efforts by rice breeding programs may have contributed to make rice production possible under various climatic conditions. Unique adaptability of rice varieties in Hokkaido, one of the northern-limits of rice cultivation in the world, was established before 200-300 years ago. The uniqueness of the adaptability and population structure in rice varieties from Hokkaido were characterized. The goal of this project is to understand the genetic diversity among local rice population in Hokkaido, Japan. |
