SHAIPI will develop into an internationally recognised Institute for excellence in HAI Research providing a virtual hub of 3 complementary work streams, Molecular Epidemiology, Informatics and Applied Infection Prevention and Control over an initial five year start-up period, contributing to an inter-related programme of activities of research, capacity building, education & practice development with the aim of reducing HAI. SHAIPI will be overseen by an independently chaired Executive Group reporting to the SIRN Steering Group. Collaborative links between consortium members, SGHSCD policy makers and other NHS organisations will enable a rapid translation of research findings into practice. The work will be underpinned by a Patient and Public HAI advisory group to ensure public engagement of the Institute’s aims and outputs.This data is part of a pre-publication release.
