title Implications of CH4:air rations on mixed methanotrophic consortia enriched from compost soils
description Compost Soil collected was enriched under semi-continuous batch feeding of CH4:air mixture of 20:80 in Nutrient mineral salt medium (NMS), for a period of 15 days. Enriched biomass after 15 days was again transferred into fresh NMS medium. a obligate methanotrophic consortia (mother culture)was obtained after five successive transfers. The obtained consortia was enriched in different methane concentrations (purged with 10:90, 20:80, 30:70, 40:60 and 50:50 % CH4 to atmospheric air ratios every 24 h for 20 days)> After 20 days, the biomass was collected from each CH4/O2 treatment samples for genomic DNA extraction and subsequent Microbial 16S rDNA sequencing using illumina platform.
