Functional metagenomics is routinely used to investigate the microbial potential of complex environments. Sequencing of functionally selected clones is an important part of the process. We demonstrate, for the first time, the application of nanopore sequencing to a functionally selected metagenomic library. We selected a metagenomic library on seven different antibiotics and sequenced the resulting metagenomic inserts using nanopore sequencing and as control with PacBio and Sanger sequencing technology. |
