title Exome-capture of 20 Human, 20 Chimpanzee and 20 Bonobo Exomes
description Here, we make available a total of 60 great ape exomes: 20 humans (Homo sapiens), 20 central chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes troglodytes) and 20 bonobos (Pan paniscus). The exome capture was performed using the SureSelect Human All Exon 50Mb Kit from Agilent technologies. All Ensembl genes that are RefSeq genes were selected, and the transcript with the longest coding region was taken as a representative for each gene. Samples were pooled by species and sequencing was performed on an Illumina GAIIx platform, with paired-end reads of 76bp. Reads were aligned to the human reference genome (hg19) using BWA (default parameters). Only reads showing a mapping quality higher than 25 and outside annotated segmental duplications were considered. The average coverage for each individual is 18.9X in human, 17.9X in chimp and 17.9X in bonobo.
