organism Ornithorhynchus anatinus
title 6X whole genome shotgun assembly by Washington University Genome Sequencing Center
description

A 6X whole genome shotgun (WGS) assembly of the Ornithorhynchus anatinus, or duck-billed platypus, genome was produced by the Washington University Genome Sequencing Center using DNA derived from a female. The assembly covers 1.84 Gb of sequence and the N50 for contigs is 612 kb. The contigs are not yet linked to chromosomes but this work is underway.
