organism Prochlorococcus marinus str. MIT 9211
title Member of clade III that has unique photophysiology and pigment composition
description

Prochlorococcus marinus str. MIT 9211. This strain was isolated from the equatorial Pacific at a depth of 83 meters by filter fractionation. MIT9211 is the type strain of the high B/A III (LLII) clade, and makes up a small but significant fraction of the population.
