title Desulfovibrio sp. X2 strain:X2 Genome sequencing and assembly
description Desulfovibrio isolate X2 is a d-Proteobacterium of the Desulfovibrionales isolated from Cheseapeake Bay bottom sediments was determined to be one of the two strongest methylators of mercury among the Desulfovibrio cell lines examined, methylating 62.2 ± 13.7% as compared with the model Desulfovibrio desulfuricans ND132 that methylated 53.6 ± 5.6% of the input Hg in an identical assay. We present the genome sequence of Desulfovibrio isolate X2 as a resource for evaluation of genetic elements associated with the ability of bacterial to methylate mercury.
