title Eastern oyster transcriptome from different salinity regimes
description The purpose of the study was to identify genes putatively involved in osmoregulation in the eastern oyster (Crassostrea virginica) by sequencing, assembling and annotating the transcriptome from low and high salinity source populations using 454 sequencing technology. We used annotations and differential expression data from the Pacific oyster (Crassostrea gigas) to identify candidate C. virginica transcripts used for osmoregulation.
