Fusarium wilt, caused by the fungal pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. cubense (Foc), is the most important lethal disease of banana. The pathogen contain 4 races and 24 VCG groups, and among them, tropical race 4 (TR4) is the most predominant and damaging biotype. Some resistant somaclonal mutants have been discovered. Yet little is understood about its innate immunity, for there are no sufficient transcriptomic and genomic data in public databases. Thus, the transcriptome profiling analysis of Foc TR4-challenged resistant mutant and susceptible wild type banana roots is needed to generate enormous transcript sequences and to gain insights into the defense response. |
